These have been all the rage lately, and for good reason! When done right, they are good! I stated out making these with bananas and almond milk and they were good. But then my sister-in-law told me how she makes hers and I have never gone back. So trust me, and Kira (my sister-in-law), don't go for the bananas and almond milk, go for the apple juice and strawberries! Ever since I made it that way my boys have asked for one a day, every day.
Strawberry - Acai Bowl
Blend together:
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 1 packet unsweetened açaí, trust me, get the unsweetened.
- A handful of frozen strawberries
Top with:
- Fruit of choice! I love to use bananas, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. Not all of them at once, just one or two of whatever I have on hand at the time.
- Granola. My all time favorite granola is Love Crunch Dark Chocolate Macaroon. My only fear is that some day they will stop making it. Please no!!!
- Honey. This is my oldest sons favorite part.
- A small amount of nut butter. Either peanut butter or almond butter. I don't usually add that but sometimes I do. A small amount can go a long ways.
