I did the challenge this week!
1st I found that Brother Grady “hears Him” by studying various gospel topics and taking more of a logical approach rather than hearing Hum through feelings of peace/the traditional ways. He started with the basic questions of “Is there a God?” and “Does God interact with people?”
After that, I wrote in my journal how I’ve heard Him in the past and what I’ll do this week in order to hear Him better! I wanted to share a few thoughts about how I hear Him too!
The past few months, I’ve learned that when I struggle, I can most certainly receive personal help from God. The scripture D&C 88:63 says that if we draw near unto Christ, then He will draw near unto us, and I put that to the test because I’ve had trouble sleeping at night. I learned that the principle within this scripture is true! And that’s how I hear Him the most. I hear Him when I pour out my heart to Him and the Holy Ghost speaks peace to my mind and heart. In order to keep that peace, specifically when I struggle at night, I say in my prayers something like “in order to fall asleeptonightI’m going to (do these things). Please help me as I do these and draw closer to me so that I can have a good night.” When I specifically ask for the Savior to come close to me, everything improves! The things that I do to draw closer to Him include scripture study, reading a book, thinking about the temple, and praying again if I need to. Sorry about the long text, but I felt that I needed to share :)
