This past weekend we went down to BSR to wakeboard and Audrey Fish came with us. Really the part of the trip I wanted to talk about was the drive home. I am learning that drives in the car can be good family time. The first time I noticed it was on Jaren's birthday, on the way to the cabin. While Jaren and I quietly played Taylor Swift and reminisced about earlier years and memories, and Austin just sat in the back and listened. Every now and then letting out a small laugh at something Jaren would say. The feelings was so peaceful! But it was more than that, there was almost a spiritual feeling in the car, one that reminds me, in a very real way, that this family is one that will be together forever, and that that is a pretty Coll thing!
And on the drive home from BSR it was the same feeling. Jaren picked up my phone and started looking for songs for me to sing along to and chose songs from the 80's. We would listen to a few lines and then sing along to the chorus. The boys and Audrey were taking turns playing games on Austin's phone and listening to our 80's sing along, getting playfully annoyed and begging us to play something from this century. Jaren and I would steal glances and laugh every now and then at the boys or some random 80's songs like 867-530 niiiiieeeeeiiiine!
Anways, that's all I got for today! Just feeling especially thankful for this family of mine!
